note: Davidson (1968) notes the creation of these drawings as part of a series of engravings developed by Rosso Fiorentino (2 of 15) and Perino (13 of 15) produced by Caraglio to help Perino survive the slump of the Sack of Rome. Only two survive in drawing form (this one, and Vertumnus and Pomona (p. 23).
